Mary, Pat & Kevin,
Gary & I just ret'd
on Thursday morning from our delightful trip to Ireland. We
had a ball!!!! Once in Boston, we
boarded Aer Lingus to Shannon & had a completely
enjoyable and relaxing flight. When we arrived in
Shannon @ 6AM, we secured our rental car & off we went -
in search of the cottage in Cooraclare. After a few
"turnarounds", we found the house & met Sean &
Dymphna. They were very hospitable, showed us around the
cottage and we unpacked & settled in for the
week. The accommodations at the
cottage were ideal - we were all very comfortable and felt
like we were at home - even relaxing on the deck in lounge
chairs on 2 separate days enjoying the beautiful weather,
sunshine and a good bottle of wine - who would have thought
we'd be "sunning" in Ireland!!!!!!! The week revealed even
more treasures and treats to explore - each one a wonderful
variation of the next and the scenery, people, general
hospitality and warmth were unequalled. We had a chance to
meet lots of locals @ O'Keefe's & it became a favorite
"late nite haunt". I don't want to sound
like we're penning a "travel log" - but this was just about
the nicest "win" we could have ever expected. Our thanks to everyone
who made this possible and we are so glad Gary bought those
raffle tix on the way out - quite a nice "return on
investment"!!! Eileen & Gary
